From the last:

July 8, 1999 – SEC and New York County District Attorney
charge brokerage firm and principals with massive
microcap fraud: The SEC instituted administrative proceedings
against registered broker-dealer A.S. Goldmen & Co., its
president Anthony J. Marchiano and seven other people
associated with the firm. The SEC charged the respondents with
engaging in fraudulent sales practices and market manipulation in
five interrelated microcap fraud schemes. Also on July 8, 1999,
the New York County District Attorney's Office indicted A.S.
Goldmen, Marchiano and thirty-two other individuals, charging
them with participating in a pattern of massive securities fraud
which cheated thousands of investors out of almost $100 million.
