Ok. How about this one from Philly:

Mike Schmidt said,
"I was appalled. There wasn't one question that Pete hasn't had thrown at him a hundred times. He wasn't going to confess to anything on national TV. I thought Pete showed great restraint. . ."

If Pete really has mob connections, that reporter better watch his back. hohoho

Today, Rose has more people in his corner than at any other time in his long and very public life in baseball. Before Sunday night, various polls favored his reinstatement by as much as 80 percent. As a player, he always had a legion of detractors who disliked his showboating on the field and perceived arrogance off it. He was never as popular then as he is now.

As his legend grows, so does a public perception that he is being persecuted unfairly by hypocrites who routinely forgive and rehabilitate felons, drug addicts, spouse abusers and gun-toters. One of them, Yankees designated hitter Darryl Strawberry, was welcomed back by baseball from his latest fall off the coke wagon with open arms.

Jim Gray might have created a folk hero.
