RE <<<I have been going by the presumption that the delay is due to process problems but you have a point, maybe it has been postponed due to lack of demand. If that's the case, it is sure costing AMD a whole lot more to have a completed, fully equipped fab sit idle then Intel's cow pasture is costing them. And what about the highly paid staff? AMD can't just lay them off because they might find other jobs and AMD would have to retrain a whole new workforce. The gophers occupying Intel's Ft Worth site are unpaid and benefits are minimal. They can be easily replaced with little or no training.>>>

BTW, EP, I noted that intc's Israeli fab is finally open. What was its construction time schedule?

BTW having done development, its not unusual to slow construction on project and postpone its opening date if market conditions are not favorable.

I agree. But, it's a cost associated with AMD's quick adjustments to the changing market conditions due to Intel's competition (especially Intel's segmentation that doomed the expected growth in K6-X volume).
