Many people have asked what is wrong with Dell. Whatever is wrong with Dell for the past 1 1/2 months is not specific to the company since these diverse companies have moved in the same direction.
Whats wrong with Intc, and Msft, and cymi, and etc?
techstocks.com
Not much wrong with any of them except how they have been treated by the Street. Analysts lumping them all in the same boat regardless of the uniqueness of Dell.
So someone has found the chink in Dells armour,in JIT.?
And perhaps they should have stockpiled those drams as a
more sensible company would have done.?
Let us assume that Dell had stockpiled a whole flock of
400 mhz Intc CPU's or some 14 in. flat panel displays. And today
Intc has 14 new faster chips available and most buyers want
a 15 in. display.
Maybe CPQ sometimes has to do that, in order to stuff the stores with a 3 month supply.
No,No, Dell went thru that stockpiling once in 1993 with
the 386 cpu's. It won't happen again. Contracting for an assured
future supplies is different situation.
I get the impression that many analysts now making suggestions on how Dell should run their business are employed by the Institutions who once
held 1 bil CPQ shares and are still trying to close out their positions
