Re: Exuberance

This is what you are calling a flood?
Like the deluge of 667 and 733 coppermines?

...PC makers had complete systems that they could not sell because of the bugs discovered late in the cycle. ...
Partially as a result, some companies are taking a cautious approach on these systems. Some manufacturers will release new Pentium IIIs containing the 820 chipset but will fill the systems up with standard SDRAM. Other companies, such as NEC Computer Systems, say they will gradually roll out Rambus systems.
==========================================================
It sure is better than never shipping any of them at all, but the recent increase in lawsuits by Intel attempting to block PC133 shows Intel's true opinion of Rambus - if Rambus were any good at all, it could be allowed to compete with PC133 instead of trying to run away and hide from it. And DDR completely overwhelms rambus in performance - and it still costs much less.

Rambus can be expected to gain 5% to 7% of the DRAM market for each of the next two years - after that, everything will move to DDR - less expensive and higher performance.

Nonetheless, it's better news for Rambus than has been out for quite some time - you should get a good jump in the stock price Monday.

Regards,

Dan

re:"exuberance!"

I think you are correct and may I add that I have a feeling the excrement is about to hit the fan for a lot of shorts out there in the great beyond.

Salude to all the "BUSSERS", and I would like to add that the Richardson Texas 3rd. grade "HURRICANES" won a big one this morning and will be in the play-offs if they win next Saturaday!!! Needless to say Grandma and grandpa Norman are very proud of number 20 a great wide end to be. - Norman!
