I am inclined to agree with what donald has said on many occasions. That SI threads should not be used to gauge market sentiment, because the typical poster is more sophisticated than the norm. OTOH, Joe Six-pack has his stocks in mutual funds, so I'm not sure his opinion sways the markets much, if he has any opinion about them at all.

The two forces that move the markets, it seems to me, are the fund managers and the daytraders. Does anyone think that SI threads influence either at all? Should the opinions on these threads be considered to influence market direction at all? I would be interested in others' opinions.
