SOME INFOWAVE (IW,TSE) INVESTORS LOSE THEIR
FAITH DESPITE Q3 ACHIEVEMENTS

IW shares closed down 22 cents yesterday after Q3 results showed YTD
sales growth of 13% over 1998.

Highlights from Q3 include Infowave's recent TSE listing and a
substantial C$7.2 million financing with mostly institutional
investors. As usual, the imaging division represented most of the
$8,561,634 YTD sales.

Infowave's future however is dependent of their wireless division
which has continued to build a solid foundation in Q3. Infowave
completed 'Infowave for the Net', a suite of corporate wireless
computing solutions; a strategic agreement was made last month
with Mi8, a leading Application Service Provider; IW and Glenayre
launched Symmetry which provides wireless access to Microsoft's
Outlook software.

All this R&D costs money of course and the wireless division is not
exactly writing up sales with both hands right at the moment. Q3 sales
tripled over the previous quarter to $146,044. Obviously Infowave's
wireless market is still in its infancy. The real potential for IW's
wireless business will not be felt for several months. My impression
from yesterday's trading is that investors are ignoring the
speculative premium the wireless division attaches to IW's share
price.

Over the next two years, the wireless market is set to explode
with 15 million e-mail users and about 51 million two-way messaging
users.

Infowave has formed a solid foundation with some strong alliances and
partnerships. Now they have to wait for the market demand to catch up
to their technology.
