and last Q's pro forma (wasn't it $0.86),

Last Q's pro forma was 75½ and in the conference call management said to use 87½ (or maybe 86½) as the base going forward. The consensus for this Q is 87½; 97½ seem a pretty high whisper.

john, interesting info.
a while back i posted a number of $1.02. shaved off 5% as a safty factor for unknown price drop of asp's and component shortages, which brought the number dn to .97.
for y2k anyway i slice the numbers i come up with aprox. 60 million units(asic's+handsets)and $6.00 per share.
i agree 100% that $5.00 will prove to be way way too low.
if q breaks out the numbers as i have heard, it won't be hard to come up with future earnings.
