One can be a "saavy trader" without hair-trigger sarcasm and vulgarity. When visitors were summoned to this board by the decision of its host to make a pronouncement about a specific company, they soon received a ration of glib doubletalk in lieu of earnest analysis.

I am critical of BW as pundit, not BW as trader.

To short at $16.50 and cover at $10 is excellent trading. To pull that off in the face of long-term fundamentals to the contrary is marvelous trading. BW has my admiration on those counts.

But BW also saw fit to pronounce the company a "piece of crap," even while advising that short positions be covered below $10. Any way you slice it, that is a recommendation (albeit a very specialized one to a very particular class of investors, i.e., those who are short the stock) to BUY the stock at prices up to $10.

Maybe this only goes to show the esteem in which BW holds crap. But one who resorts to such vulgarity should not later try to claim the high road -- not even by proxy.
