I'm sorry freeus, I can't agree with you less. I'm all for
taxes that do good. Don't democracies have to be protected
by a defense organization, don't we have to regulate the cleanliness of food, don't we need an SEC? We'd never have
this technological explosion without government support of
university research. It might be best not to have capital
gains taxes but without some taxation we'd never have our
gorillas or godzillas.
Cheers.

I do not feel that income taxes are a theft, but I do feel that capital gains, inheritance, and gift taxes are unfair penalties, as are the restrictions placed on earning of Social Security recipients above their earned tax rate.

I do feel that those who renounce citizenship to remove themselves from the tax rolls while continuing to enjoy the benefits of living in the U.S. should and ought to be brought to heel.

Many complain of our unfair tax burden...they haven't lived or paid taxes in Canada, England, the Scandanavian countries...you get the point. Our government is not perfect, none are. But pray name one that more fully deserves taxpayer support than ours.

Rather then complain of taxes, how about a little gratitude that you live in a society that offers opportunity at every turn, and allows you to accumulate boundless profits from them which are, for the most part, yours to enjoy. It's called capitalism, and there no system anywhere on earth that works better than the one right here.
