here is my take on the 86 cent issue

mgmt wanted to reassure that earnings will not be in decline at the very least.. doubts were being raised as to reduced sales from component shortage and profit margin squeeze

so instead of setting a high bar by saying "expect a buck", they simply told the morons to "use 86 cents as baseline" since that is the proforma earnings last quarter

who cares what Yahoo or Bloomberg reports?
they each have their methods of reporting
apparently they use after-charge EPS
ignore them, get over it

my prediction: $1.07 per share

based upon extreme strength of every wireless company related to CDMA business reporting earnings in the last couple weeks
