Mani, I wonder if Paul was in Jerry's office to see those 150,000 units sitting there. Paul were they on Jerry's desk or his credenza?

Mani - Re: "Jerry did not blame the Taiwan quake for the 150K unsold CPU's. Did you listen to the CC? If so, you did not pay enough attention."

This is what Jerry WROTE in the AMD SEC 10-Q filing about Taiwan, earthquakes, and Athlon sales:

{=============================}
biz.yahoo.com

"Sales of AMD Athlon microprocessors are highly dependent upon the availability of chipsets and motherboards from Taiwanese and other

suppliers. Taiwan is currently recovering from a major earthquake that occurred on September 21, 1999. The earthquake resulted in an interruption of power to our suppliers' manufacturing facilities that contributed to a severe shortage of motherboards in the last week of the third quarter of 1999 which adversely affected our sales of AMD Athlon microprocessors.

{======================================}

Now, maybe you have a new SPIN on what Jerry Meant by "The earthquake resulted in an interruption of power to our suppliers' manufacturing facilities that contributed to a severe shortage of motherboards in the last week of the third quarter of 1999 which adversely affected our sales of AMD Athlon microprocessors."
