Nancy.. I would like to get back to the Birth Of Christ.. and it would make economic sense for the Romans to Tax at the least painful time of year.. EX 23:16 Also there were enumerated in their home towns... what a pain. I'm not sure the time can be pin-pointed since Christ seems to care little about "when" He was born and more concerned about "where and how" He told us to remember Him as the fulfiller of the Covenant to Abraham .

I however would like to change the subject for a moment.. Perhaps someone you know or you yourself could tell me this.

Paul wrote me a post which renewed a previous question that had cropped up in my mind and to which I have not reasoned anything satisfactory nor received any revelation nor instruction !

I was speaking about Jesus Laying down His life for the sheep not the goats in the sense which Christ used "goat" in the parables about the last day !

Paul wrote back about the "goats" in Lev 16

The SCAPEGOAT or AZEL... He had some interpretation that they where gentile nations but I have always seen Azel as a Type of Christ..

EXEGETICAL RULE: Never think a word must always mean the same thing :-}

The Goat I agree is Jesus taking our IMPUTED SINS...

Here is my problem...

When I first looked at the two goats I thought the one that went into the "wilderness" was actually set free... I have met others who say NO! That goat would surely also die.. for in the wilderness is many Brute Beasts ( SATAN ) who would surely finish this goat off !

That surprised me however it does seem reasonable.

I have also seen this logic carried to the point of thinking that the Goat of AZEL proves that Jesus actually was turned over to Satan in His death and went to HELL for 3 days !

I personally do not believe that Jesus went to HELL for any days.

The " OLD ROMAN FORM" of the APOSTLE'S CREED was written in Latin in 390 AD by Rufinus (also the Greek form from Marcellus 336-341 AD ) did not contain the words He descended into hell

That statement as well as many others is first seen in the "Received Form " which dates at the earliest the 5th century and became popular in the 7th.

The "proof" as it were that has been proposed is that Jesus as the goat of Azel was turned over to Satan to be destroyed in HELL ( ultimate wilderness or barren land )

So they would say that Jesus going into the wilderness for the Forty days while tied to the purging of Israel prior to entering into the Promised Land that the Goat going into the wilderness more represents Jesus becoming our Sin and then Turned over to the LAND of SATAN !

I say.. I do not believe that Jesus went to Hell because I do not see it in scripture really. I see Him forsaken of GOD and PUNISHED by GOD Suffering the penalty of DEATH but I see no reason to believe that He went to hell...

Many quote this verse to prove it :

1 Peter 3:19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

They say that the "prison , time and place" of this preaching was in hell after the crucifixion.

I believe this preaching was preached "by the Spirit" through men like NOAH before Christ even came to the earth and the previous meaning is just silly and based on believing the modern version of the Apostles Creed long before looking at the passage.

If you have any thoughts on this or perhaps you could print this out and see if anyone has any light on this please let me know.

This point may not seem important but it is Tied very crucially to another point that is important to me.. namely.. the state of men after death ! What I believe concerning that is not the "received view" :-} That is another story however. Thanx for any help you can find about this. At this point I'm not even sure if Azel would have died !

In His Service to the ELECT LADY ! :-}
