Intels tactics are to push the architecture to their own proprietary standards and then sue anyone who tries to make a copy. It's only natural that someone tries to work around that, especially when there is profit involved...
Microsoft did it to IBM and Apple and Compaq reverse engineered IBMs code. Things get copied all the time. Some companies copy knowing they are in violation and just say "sue me" and figure they will just win because they have more money. Intel wouldn't do that would they?
The real twist is that VIA is the only real good alternative right now to get a CUNeverMine on a 133MHZ bus. So good that Micron is using that combination, so why isn't Intel suing Micron? I hear IBm will use the VIA 133 chipset too. These companies are aiding a fraud against Intel patents..Why does Intel chose to target FIC? Could it be that FIC is the leading Athlon motherboard maker right now?
