The idea that someone would drive from NJ to Tennessee to charter a plane for Florida is a bit bizarre. That is roughly a 600 mile trip from Colts Neck. And the trip to Miami, Florida, itself is about 1200 miles. Unless he was going to pick up something or drop something off. Or maybe escape. Suppose the dogs are in a kennel? Is Sparky being boarded through this transition?

Greystone: I don't know if I read your post correctly but if it is taken as the first opening page of a novel, it is excellently done. Great Prose.
