Just browsed some message boards. Don't care much about the longs/shorts, but people who claim to have auctions going on EBAY are getting pretty upset.

They may remain loyal to EBAY, but they are looking into YHOO, AMZN, and other auction sites.

Is it that hard to back up there site?

I mean if this doesn't happen that often, why don't they have some sort of emergency counter measure/servers? Or is it that they do, and their main servers go down all the time, and this is just the case where both the main and backup servers are down.

...and why the heck did they even buy out Butterfield? Are they even integrating it into their model?

Such a shame, they had such an entourage at one time. This board is now indicative of EBAY. Shareholder interest is waning, and so are the users.

I'm thinking auction count should well be over 4 million by now, but they fail to innovate unlike AOL who keeps upgrading and ramping up customers left and right. Pretty soon, not only will you see the auction count stall, you might even see it drop.

Never thought I'd see the day...

Looks like they are having a little problem or two. It has been working like crap since early this afternoon central time. Yes, I had an auction going plus I want to bid on something right now. Can't get description or picture, so no bid from me.
