I was one of those leading the chorus of "the silence is deafening". I'd still like to know what happened and how it was fixed but for now I will certainly agree with you that the stage appears to be setting up and it is being choreographed. The risk is clearly to the shorts right now. The bad news was priced in and all that could help the shorts short-term would be a clear out cancellation of Rambus based PCs. Since the probability of this was very low, i never understood why anyone would want to be short from 65-70. Well, tomorrow will say a lot about the price movements of Rambus. I expect a good pop to 82 sometime this week (so long as the news is not reliably refuted somehow).
