JPR: I am not prepared to write off China, like it or not they will be one of the 'powers' to be reckoned with -economically and militarily- in the new millennium.

I don't think the U.S and the West wants to isolate China, at best they try to contain them as long as they can but won't succeed , besides they need access to the Chinese market, it is the next big 'frontier' for Western capitalists. They got some of the 'best' brains around, they are gradually gaining economic strength (keep watching the foreign reserve)-GDP has been growing rather nicely for the last 15 years and continue growing, they can survive without foreign markets if it comes to that and finally if and when (it is more like when not if) Taiwan joins the mainland - 'look out Nellie'.

QUAID on Pakistan
Tall order at the DAWN of independence: Nobility, Honor, Dignity, Conviction, Incorruptibility, self-effacement, Collective goodness. The reality is just the opposite in the last 52 years. It is NOT THE FOREIGNERS and it is NOT THE HINDUS who did you in . IT IS THE ENEMY WITHIN, STUPID

Quaid at the dawn of independence:
We have lost the fullness of our noble character. And what is character - the highest sense of
honour and the highest sense of dignity - conviction - incorruptibility, readiness any time to
efface oneself for the collective good of the nation."

GUJRANWALA, Oct 31: Two captains died when an army aircraft crashed in the Cantonment board
area here on Sunday. The Mushshak was being flown by two under-training pilots, Captains
Masoodullah Baig and Shahid Aulak.

JPR's Notes
It appears that Pakistani AirForce and navy will be decimated by accidents . We "THE ENEMY" don't have to worry. The paki pilots will do it for us. .

At the stroke off Midnight, Freedom for Pakistan. 52 yrs later
The Quaid succeeded in creating the fifth largest state in the world in 1947. The ideals set
forth by him to make Pakistan a secular state failed to materialize in reality because of the
deviation from the ideals enunciated by him in his August 11, 1947, speech before the
Constituent Assembly of Pakistan.

JPR's NOTE: Muslims got everything like BRAINS, INTELLIGENCE, CAPACITY, AND COURAGE as they say. But these virtues as per QUAID were diluted by the British and Indians before independence. 52 years later, it stays diluted. WHY?
In an earlier speech at the conclusion of the Muslim Legislators Convention in Delhi on April
11, 1946, he had said: "The Muslims have got everything - brains, intelligence, capacity and
courage - virtues that nations must possess. But two things are lacking and I want you to
concentrate your attention on these. One thing is that foreign domination from without and
Hindu domination here, particularly on our economic life, has caused a certain degeneration in
these virtues in us.

The above sums up the need of the hour. Those who clamour for democracy are well-advised
to ponder the vision of the great leader. This writer is convinced that the chief executive's plan
to institute good governance as announced on October 17 is the best way forward. It is an
awesome responsibility.
