<<FWIW, started buying JDSU about 1 or 2 months ago and posted strong push from buddy in the VC area - saw him again today, big time capital raiser -- still feels huge upside on JDSU, also now liking SDLI and asked about a look at AFFX in another field -- any ideas?>>

Peter, nice to see you on the JDSU thread. JDSU imo has lots of upside yet but we need to give the stock some time to consolidate its gains. Not sure why I am saying this as nothing has slowed it down so far this year. I always look mid to long term with JDSU and like what I see.

As for SDLI from what I have been told by two SIers who I respect greatly Bulldozer and Pat Mudge, the company is doing very well...SDLI in particular has very good product in the 980 space (especially sub-marine) and is a very worthy competitor to JDSU.
A open question in my mind with SDLI is will, can or should it remain independent or will it become a takeover target.
Many have talked about ETEK and SDLI (passive and active) joining. However a number have also said that SDLI should go it alone.

I don't follow AFFX.

Glenn
