Dear truedog,
I respect your feelings and like I said I go back and forth on this. I know when I was a child there more innocence about it all, but I guess as society becomes more and more ungodly we feel it in many areas. This is one of them I do not feel the innocence in general about it that was there before so I am concerned. Well yesterday I gave in and took them to Toys-R-Us (I should have given a prayer request for me first:-))to get a non scary costume. My older son that has been through so much told me that he would not dress up for this was a day when the enemies of Jesus celebrate. I am sure the people around me thought I was on drugs because tears of pride welled up in my eyes and I gave him a big hug. My younger son just wanted a lighted sword because he thought "it was cool". We went to a very large church in town and met some of their friends and the older children came together and prayed for Jesus to be glorified on this night more than any other night to show that he is victorious over the devil. I got goose bumps and then it came into my mind what these precious children could see "This is the day that the Lord has made" It is not the devils day. No evil can claim a day that God has ordain and set in place. Believe me I know that Jesus was glorified by the fun these kids had sharing with each other last night. Sometimes I wonder with children who is teaching who?
How was the Baptism yesterday? I was praying the Lord would bless your entire house with joy and peace,
Nancy
