Biogen is a very conservative and responsible company. It works hard to build a strong foundation for the future. They accomplish this by being fiscally conservative, by attempting to diversify their product offerings methods of drug discovery, and by moving very diliberately through the clinic. As a shareholder, this makes me feel good. Biogen remains one of my core holdings. However, I have diversified my portfolio to a greater extent now that VLA-4 and anti-CD40L have suffered setbacks in the clinic (they may be only temporary, and the clotting Biogen is concerned about may only be a slight statistical aberration).
