The company has made it clear that Ericy will be paying Qcom royalties on all 3G, regardless of which of the three modes. That is, Qcom IPR is necessary to implement W-CDMA even if Qcom doesn't technically own W-CDMA IPR. Is that clear enough? With respect to Ericy, the amount of cross-licensing for which Q will pay royalties is based on the mix, but Qcom will be on receiving end almost as if were the sole licensor. That is, the company was quite confident that it would receive far more than it pays and what it pays will pale in comparison to what it receives. The only thing that can change that is if a lot of new patents were developed and needed for W-CDMA. This was discussed in detail back when the Ericy settlement was entered into. I think you have asked the question about five times already on the thread, and yet you still haven't been convinced. I would suggest you read posts from March 25th forward for about a week.
