If you are correct, then Qcom will try to buy IDC. <eom>

Bill, I hope your ploy to get Gregg out again works!

Good Luck,

Ruffian

Bill- Thanks for the kind response to my inappropriate response to you, I always regret being nasty. Sorry about that.

You are right, we will have to wait and see how the IPR holds out. However, it seems that if q was not needed for wcdma, the battle would have been lost already. If there was any doubt, no way would the strongest player have folded. If the GSM community which is so much bigger and well established, could avoid paying Q, the war would have been over already. The risk for the players who do not want to use Q's IPRs is that they will get left behind by cdma2000 and others that not willing to spend precious "come to market time" attempting to circumvent Q's IPRs. A dangerous game.

Although I may be wrong, I trust Irwin Jacobs when he said Q's IPRs apply to wideband and narrowband cdma alike and that GSM can't do data without q's cdma.

So far, there hasn't been much I believe coming from IDC.

Time will tell.

The analysts running for the exits, seem to be running with their heads between their legs now @220 and change. Let's see what a few more quarters of Q earinings reports show. Stock with the potential of Q will always be pricey.

Cheers,

Caxton

Just an interesting question: since you believe "there could be a real blood bath in QCOM shares price", why don't you sell your Q shares, or even better, short it?
