Calling up Dell isn't going to do you any good. They bought huge quantities of RDRAM chips for the launch that got cancelled

i do not believe dell has bought anything yet...if you believe they have, you do not understand dell's business model.

i have spoken with some dell folks...they tell me the press releases are accurate...dell's customers are demanding rambus...dell expects a full 50% of their memory purchases next year to be rambus. i believe gateway and hp are having similar experience.

it is quite clear that rambus will be in pc's in a significant way...there will be no intel chipsets for pc-133 for portables. here the transition will be direct from sdram to rdram...ddr is locked out.

i am quite willing to share the dram market with you next year...you can have some...with all of the other products now lined up for rambus tech, rmbs will be an awesome success with just a small % of pc's. anything more will be quite awesome.

thanks for the comment about a peak at a ddr pc. i am sitting on the edge of my chair waiting. i guess we may see some ddr sometime next year. ddr will knock sdram 100 off.
i cannot imagine an rdram user trading down to ddr, if ddr becomes available.
