Gary, TAPI is a software API that is used to interface with
telephone equipment (PBX, voicemail, etc.) So NBX makes network
phone equipment that can work with (remote) software written
using TAPI. For example, telemarketers can sit at a PC running
software over TAPI that lets them know who is on the phone and pulls
up their account information automatically. NBX's product can work
with this, just like a Siemens PBX could. The fact that NBX's product
runs on UNIX internally has nothing to do with the front end of
TAPI on a PC that talks to applications, and everything to do with
the back end that talks to telephony devices.
