Yes, it's vague, agreed. We'll see more soon, I'm sure, which will clear it up.

The vindication part I was referring to.. had to do with link set-ups to pops where insufficient traffic existed to justify full term Ts, or to cover overflow conditions where minimal Ts existed. In both situations the ISDN would be used to satisfy a "managed Layer 1/2" in order to support VoIP over a more dynamically configured managed IP network. VoIP would ride on top at Layer 3, between routers, or between gateway locations on such temporary connections, created on demand. This is what we envisaged two years ago in connection with a similar venture. Nothing necessarily brilliant, only using what's economically available.. a natureal outgrowth of n[gr]eed ;-)

...and of course, the compelling need to use SS7 in order to
ramp up and scale the quickest way, in the absence of a 'net-
centric alternative. This, despite it having the net effect
of perpetuating a model which it was earlier purported to be
replacing. Oh, well...
