Bill - <PB, I was envisioning it for the company who wishes to expand a fab with no shutdown, step by step keeping diversity until the replacement machine is working until the old one ispulled. cassette based operation frees people from the end to end assembly line.> I believe the best way to do this is to build another facility dedicated to the new technology, at least for a wafer fab running at full capacity. I understand the concept you outline with your example, but the expense, time, and degree of technical difficulty, would make this scheme prohibitive, IMHO. PB
