aMandi. we read this same dram argument each semi cycle upturn, which lasts, on average two to three years relative to stock prices (at most five years). we're now moving into the third year of the cycle counting from 1997. Micron just stated in their CC that they see prices tapering down. so, you seem correct in that the decreases in price are not decelerating as much as they used to for the .25 or .35. but, TI has stated that their .18mu is seeing a healthy implimentation (no significant problems that they've not been able to solve yet) for mass production.

nevertheless, Dell has stated that system buyers will need to purchase addtl dram product at their own expense. box makers won't be competing to use this product as a means of winning clients. others areas will make the difference; services for example.
