Additional Drill Results From 1999 Program Intersects Significant
Mineralization

Down-dip From Defined Resources and Expands Known Tonnage

NUNAVUT TERRITORY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 1999--Management of Starfield Resources Inc. is pleased to announce assay results from its second
phase drill program, completed in late September at the Company's 100% owned Ferguson Lake Cu-Ni-Co-PGE project, located 200 km west of Rankin Inlet.

With the release of these four drill holes, Starfield has tested 1,100 meters of strike length on the West Zone and increased the possible tonnage to 11 million from
the identified historic resource of 6.4 million tonnes, grading 0.87% copper and 0.75% nickel. Significant mineralization has been intersected in all 19 holes drilled by
Starfield during 1999.

The four holes (FL 99-16,17,18,and 19) were designed to further test mineralization down-dip of historic drilling. Results from drilling on West Zone include 16.39
meters of 1.20% Cu, 0.76% Ni, 0.12% Co and 1.31 g/t Pd.

Interval Length Assays
Hole (m) (m) Cu% Ni% Pdg/t Ptg/t Co%

FL 99-16 241.40-242.20 0.80 0.28 0.05 0.08 0.03 0.006
245.84-248.05 2.21 0.36 0.04 0.07 0.02 0.005
(including 246.80-247.05 0.21 3.70 0.27 0.61 0.07 0.030)

Drill logs indicate a fault zone was intersected at the target
depth where mineralization in adjacent holes was projected to occur
within hole FL99-16.

FL 99-17 185.00-205.08 20.08 0.99 0.63 1.13 0.13 0.100
(including 185.00-201.39 16.39 1.20 0.76 1.31 0.14 0.120)
270.30-275.0 4.70 0.38 0.34 1.70 0.18 0.05
(including 270.80-272.5 1.70 0.61 0.54 2.78 0.22 0.08)

FL 99-18 241.0-248.0 7.00 0.06 0.04 0.12 0.13 0.008
(including 242.00-243.79 1.79 0.11 0.11 0.35 0.14 0.01)

The target interval in hole FL99-18 contained stringer and
disseminated sulphides and four meters of late stage gabbro dyke
material.

FL 99-19 198.03-206.0 7.97 0.76 0.45 1.27 0.20 0.06
(including 199.96-205.34 5.38 0.82 0.53 1.56 0.22 0.07)

The 5.38m interval in Drill hole FL99-19 is described as massive and semi-massive Pyrrhotite-Chalcopyrite-Pyrite and includes a 0.30m wide cross-cutting post
mineral mafic dyke.

Dr. N.C. Carter, P.Eng., Independent Consulting Geologist, has compiled within the sulphide intersections obtained in holes FL 99-17 and FL 99-19, the addition
of a further 750,000 tonnes to the West Zone resource.

Most of the exploration conducted to date has been relatively shallow and widely spaced over approximately 12 km of the mineralized rock unit's strike length,
which is believed to exceed 18km in length. Geophysics, complimented by a recent geologic structural interpretation, indicate large conductive and magnetic bodies
exist down-dip at depth and along the strike of the prospective unit. The host system is recognized as changing in the deeper drilling.

Results from the 1999 drill programs have confirmed the importance of geophysics in recognizing mineralized zones. Together with the historic drill data, the second
phase of drilling has allowed geologists to formulate very exciting targets for an upcoming winter program. Technical staff are confident in expanding known and
discovering new mineralized zones at depth over the 18 kilometer strike length.

Due to the limited extent of drill exploration to date and the scale of the system producing mineralization an expanded drill program is being recommended for the
winter so that the scope of the Ferguson Lake project can be fully understood. Starfield's drilling plans are to begin expanding the mineral inventory while still
exploring for the root of the system at depth.

A complete overview of Starfields' second phase of drilling at Ferguson Lake will be available shortly.
