I'm not sure about the internet only banking part but I just looked briefly at Paytrust. Looks like they do offer Quicken download capability. Could be strong competition for CheckFree?

paytrust.com

I'm holding CKFR so I hope there are good reasons that Paytrust does not lure customers away from CKFR.

I've not read much of the earlier comments on this thread so it's quite possible that someone else has looked into Paytrust and ruled them out as competition for CKFR.

Anyone?

Copied from their web site - "Paytrust is the flagship product of Secure Commerce Services Inc., a privately held company based in Princeton, NJ. The company, founded in October 1998, is backed by AT&T Ventures and Spectrum Equity Investors."

Zuma,

I think today people are looking around saying to themselves was this a bottom or a breather on the way down? I think the earnings and CC were exactly what they were meant to be, in a word progress. In spite of the 200,000 subscribers written off and the potential of an additional 200,000, Pete has still said that 5 million by June 30, 2000, will happen. Here is where you either believe in him and the company or you sell and say they won't make it.

I think we have come a long way in the last six months, probably the best 6 months the company has ever had, and I believe the next nine months will contain some of our shining moments. I guess my "model" is faith and trusting that management is doing the right things mroe than they are doing the wrong things. Will I be right? God knows I have enough riding on it. IMO adoption is now the key. If CKFR announces that 200,000 people signed up for the free-trial, would we be happy? For that matter what number would make us happy? The key will be how many customers will CKFR retain after the trial is over. How can we ask for Yahoo number that is in a sense meaningless until we get to the point where we realize revenue from the new subscribers created? Yahoo is not stupid either, I bet they don't go all out will advertising e-payments/e-bill until they see it working and people are happy with it.

Sorry if I rambled, but I feel better if I get these thoughts out and I see if anyone here agrees or not.

Feel free to blast away.

Rob

>>>Are there any internet-only banks that have gotten their act together with automated downloads into Quicken?

Well, wingspan has QIF downloads for History, but not for upcoming bill payments (although I think it's coming along with bill presentment). IMHO, Wingspan has done an excellent job with their site - the ACH external transfer feature is very nice.
