Cheryl- My understanding is stock options are treated similarly by Sun, but that the size and scope of the accounting issue to do with MSFT stands apart from the rest of the industry.

This BillParish link (I see it was on /.) is kinda old. It lead to an article in the Economist last summer, and has been posted to the thread previously (actually, I'm just assuming it's the same Bill Parish page link).

Nope, I don't think so. Same problem different company. Although admittedly the problem, I believe, is more acute with MSFT.
