John, I suspect that fact that there are agreements and a true dispute will muddy the water so that they will be unable to get a restraining orer that will stick. The scenario you describe has some truth to it. If Intel cannot make enough they will need VIA. Now will Via be such a lapdog and make for Intel and not for AMD...esp when they can see that knock out punch when the Intel PC133 chipset is mature? I think they will make the best of both worlds and make for the Athlon and they will try to get a future with no infringement at all so Via can make AMD chipsets just in case Intel does try to kill them in the market.
One fine day an all in one board from Via will come along and make a good try for the low end and they will want to partner with AMD to use the Athlon at that time as well as their own cyrix derivatives which will be slower.
