Don't know about the Rusian connection, but the crime scene was not, IMHO, a mess. Sure they resisted, papers on the floor, but the number of gunshot wounds only indicates that the perps were experienced and wanted to make sure no one lived. Certainly not messy in terms of leaving evidence behind.
