Kimberly, how do you get INCA info? I have tried to find a way to get access to the INCA book, but can not even get Instinet to reply to my emails. I have heard from a trader on the Pac Exchange options floor that the individual investor can get access to the book for a price.

Thanks,
Dustin

Marketwatch story on how GUMM's hitting the message boards.

On the message boards:
Sayonara sniffles, GUMM to
the rescue

Will the common cold go way of the dinosaur? That might be a stretch, but
GumTech shareholders are betting that the company's homeopathic cold
remedy, Zicam, might be the virus-fighting tool of the future. The fire was
fueled on Monday as bullish studies began to surface regarding the drug's
efficacy. The Street embraced the news, catapulting GumTech (GUMM:
news, msgs) through it's all-time high, and, of course, the message boards
were abuzz.

On Silicon Investor,
posters, like
CCCrawford, reveled
in the moment: "This
thing is for real. Maybe
I'll try some of that
Zicam on my next cold.
I hear it works better
when you're long."
HowardE, MD: "My
guess is that this first
article is one step to
putting down colds and
getting rid of those snotty hankies forever. Bring on the second study!"

And StreetWalker looked to a boundless future: "Investors are lucky to be
alive at this time so they can invest in GUMM and pass their shares down
through the generations. ZICAM is going international, and GUMM will be
over $100+ in the future. ELIMINATE the cold in 1.5 days? That is news
for the history of mankind!"

As usual, the loudest cheers could be found on Yahoo. Cedarman was all
atwitter as the cliches flew: "Bang the drums, launch the rockets and get
out of the way. There is a train leaving the station. Can anyone say,
'WHOO WHOO'? Isn't it customary to tar and feather the shorts before
running them out of town?" DadDollar kept with the theme: "Wow! This is
it. Elvis has left the building. He is on the GUMM train heading due north.
What a great way to start the week and month and we all know there is a
lot more good news coming very soon."

Sounds like Cold1Night oughtta keep the radio off
during his commute: "Almost crashed my car while
driving in this morning. News radio announced that
USA Today was touting a revolutionary new cold
remedy called Zicam. They named the product,
Zicam, 5 times and said it reduced colds to 1.5 days.
I almost drove off the road I was screaming so loud!!

A plug from the King of All Media? Apparently so, according to DaHalls:
"I just heard from a co-worker that Robin from the Howard Stern show did
a report on Zicam this morning. Apparently she announced it as the new
miracle cure for the common cold."

Almost everybody indulged in gratuitous back-patting, but there were a few
rare bears, like MrRetiredYung who maintained an "anti" stance: "Gum
Tech faces significant competition from a large number of major drug
companies involved in selling cold and flu products that will compete
directly with Zicam. Most of these competitors have greater name
recognition, more established brands, wider distribution capabilities and
greater financial and marketing resources than Gum Tech."

The bulls weren't about to let MrRetiredYung rain on their parade. The
stock closed up 2 5/8 to 17 -- just off the highs of the day, but nothing to
sneeze at!

Wit woos SoundView

Another group of ecstatic message board dwellers
could be found on the Wit Capital boards. After a
snappy market debut, shares of Wit Capital (WITC:
news, msgs) took a pronounced turn for the worse.
However, happy days are here again for
shareholders as news of a major purchase hit the
wire.

Ringing endorsements for the deal crowded Raging
Bull's boards where BO'Reilly gave the fresh
addition a hearty thumbs-up: "SoundView
management are truly, professional players." As did
Memfields: "More capability to provide more
shares to individual investors. More clout in the
technology sector. Good news for shareholders! Get
ready for more buyers to come in and the stock to
finally move up toward 30."

And this is only the beginning, according to
WonderWorm: "More institutions coming on board.
Once WITC beats estimates for the third straight
quarter, it will be on! The institutional floodgates will
be opened. Wit Capital Europe, Wit Capital Japan,
Wit Capital USA -- year 2000 will be the year the
Dynasty begins!"

Mor4Mony let his approval be known on Yahoo: "COOL! Hold on to your
WITC shares. Wit Capital will get bought out or GROW LIKE A WEED.
They are in Asia now, and they will expand operations. Deal with CMGI
brought in a huge number of accounts and they IPO many deals. I have an
acct at witc and I am very happy there!"

Speak for yourself, posted JPKelley -- not
everyone was bullish on the company: "After trying
to get quality IPOs for eight months and receiving
NONE -- I GIVE UP. The only allocation I have
received thus far was for WITC. In order to get an
allocation at WITC, you need to sit in front of your
computer waiting for e-mails. Not to mention the trade execution sucks.
And customer service is non-existent. I will be transferring my funds to
another online broker this week. To the rest of you best of luck trying to
'strike it rich' with the help of Wit Capital. I personally found the whole
experience rather frustrating."

Ouch, a trip to the boards would hardly be complete without a proper dose
of cynicism. But, despite a moderate amount of bashing, the stock continued
to retrace lost ground, up 27 percent to 22 3/8, and, in doing so, gave
beleaguered shareholders reason to hold tight. See related story.

Kimberly,

Thanks for a great thread with wonderful people who so generously share their DD so that we may all benefit.

I am doing some DD on GUMM and would like contribute by pointing out that GUMM can be more than just a short-term play for the sniffly season. Yes, GUMM has Zicam for the sniffies and other cold miseries, but GUMM also has the rather obvious chewing gum customized to serve a multitude of purposes such as weight loss and nicotine addiction without the harmful affects of tobacco.

In fact, I just read that the nicotine market is HUGE and that GUMM rebuffed SmithKlineBeecham's advances for their nicotine gum (I hope that my favorite DD expert 2Mar$ can find the link to prove this point as the hour is late and I read it but can't find it again - sorry but this happens to Mommy traders who are constantly interupted by crying babies).

I did find this link very useful as a place to begin some serious DD on GUMM:
