There is a spot every morning on the radio (I live in Spartanburg, SC) called the MindSpring Minute, where a guy named Laslow talks about high tech, usually internet related subjects, not necessarily affiliated with MindSpring. This morning, much to my surprise, he discussed MyTalk. No mention of General Magic, but he did a good job of explaining the service, and more importantly, plugging the site. FWIW...

Unisys has released version 4.0 of its Natural Language Speech Assistant toolkit, for building speech-based applications. The latest version of the software features:

* expanded international language support to include US English, French, German, Italian and Spanish;

* expanded support for speech recognisers, including Nortel OpenSpeech, Philips Speech Pearl, L&H, Lucent, AT&T Watson and Nuance, as well as any SAPI-compliant speech recogniser.

The software is available through the recently announced Unisys Speech Depot web site (which also features other tools, guides and discussion groups that deal with creating speech applications), along with a number of resellers. 22nd October
