And yet more bottomfishing: Tyco International (TYC)

Since David Tice of the Prudent Bear Mutual Fund raised the question of unorthodox accounting practices employed by TYC in their many acquisition, the stock has tanked. Although its CEO Dennis Kozlowski and many Wall St. analysts have vigorously defended the stock, each denial seems to result in another sell-off. This time, a NY Times article regarding its acquisition of US Surgical brought about another sell-off. It is now 30% down from its YTD high of 103, which was within the past two months.

TYC is a Wall St. "darling" and it is rare for a large-cap stock this well regarded by "the Street" to sell at this steep discount. Although I am not very good at "catching the falling knife", it is probably nearing a bottom. I might risk getting a "paper cut" to begin accumulating at this level. If it gets near 30, I am an aggressive buyer. Put this one on your radar screens.

DlphcOracl: Re VISX - I saw the ABC broadcast of VISX technology (actually improves vision to better than 20/20)about a week ago - expected it to pop the next day, but it dropped 2 points. I wonder if the $500 both eye price for lasix from Vancouver B.C. outfits has hurt the other laser surgery practices. I had LCAV for a while, but sold it after Canadians announced their price drops. But if it actually DID give better than "perfect" vision, wouldn't that be something? Do they have a patent on that technology?
