Mary,
At least we agree on Y2K but we won't know for sure until Jan 1, 2000.
The big difference is that if a computer crashes now you can reboot most of the time. After Y2K, that might not work...AND the fix won't be known until afterwards!

RE: "But I was right about the y2k thingy. ....It is all those mainframe computers that is supposed to have 20 million year mean time to failure rates, and triple redundancies, that will cause disasters (if there are to be any). "

Hi Mary,

It's a good thing Itanium is shipping next year. :)

Mary,

Okay, I was wrong about Braves Pitching. I thought having 75% of the game was enough. apparently the other 90%
(hitting, fielding, bunting, base running) is just as important.

Yanks pitching (Hernandez, Cone, Pettite, Clemens, Rivera et al) not exactly chopped liver.

Consolation for the Red Sox, albeit small, only team to get a win over the Yankees in the post-season. Where are the post-season announcements? Pedro for MVP!
