Do you even know when they will publish?

It's the February issue. Which is nice and convenient, since that gives GUMM three prime months to promote Zicam "as published in.." before anyone even gets to read the study! Pretty slick, those guys.

This clinical deserves to be published (the AJIC just proved that)

Well, there's published and then there's published. Some journals out there have editorial standards one step above Silicon Investor. I don't know that AJIC fits into that category, but then again I don't know that it doesn't, either. Even allowing that it probably isn't, that leaves quite a wide gulf of possible standards. Thus my initial query.

Bottom line, any way you slice it, spin it, chop it, dice it, whatever... hyping a submission to the NEJM and winding up publishing in any lesser journal (read: anything else, except maybe JAMA), must be a letdown to anyone who's been paying attention.
