Dear marvin: Well, I dont know about that. Personally, I dont see it ever happening but if it did it likely would result in some kind of charge BELOW the line and thus not effect operating earnings. It would take YEARS though to make the change as this is a biggee and would go through much discussion in the Accounting Profession before anything would be enacted. I think today most sophisticated investores dont even pay much attention to Earnings per share rather they look at CASH FLOW per share as the more accurate and dependable calculation when matching one company to another.
