Although Joni Mitchell was less popular, her influence on her fans, who were generally among the educated elite, was more lasting, as was her unique influence on other artists....<< Such a snob you are Neo<g> I thought the thread was supposed to be about individuals who were of greatest influence. Yeah, I'm sure we can all relate to "Big Yellow Taxi" and sang along with Joni on FM, but who can doubt the lasting profundity resulting from making out in the backseat of your date's car to the Shirelles singing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"..... bp
