Jack - OT yea - talk about hard headed, I did 2 tours back to back in '68-'69, would have done another but they wouldn't let me out of the hospital. (And people wonder why I stick with CPQ...) Not that I loved it but I was good at what I did and that made a difference. A year's experience made me an expert, more than 30% of my flight did not make it through the first tour (as you remember, '68 was not really the best tourist season). '69 was better except for "vietnamization" in the 9th division, but worse for me. I was only 2 weeks short of rotation when I got an all expenses paid vacation to Hawaii in a striker frame... Nothing since has seemed particularly risky.
