I forgot to mention Judy Collins in my previous post. One could argue that Patsy Cline has had a far ranging effect on American music. Until she came along the best known country and western singer was Patsy Montana. Patsy Cline influenced Loretta Lynn, Dottie West, and Reba McIntire, who in turn have influenced the present crop of singers. My previous post should say Christine Lavin, not Catherine Lavin.
