Intel expects growth in communications, networking

No end in sight for networking financial boom
eet.com

"One-thousand networking startups have been formed in calendar year 1999, McQuillan said. In the first eight months of this year, the money raised by startups was double that raised during the entire year of 1998. Wall Street is not crazy when it places initial values of Sycamore, Akamai, and Juniper in excess of $10 billion each"

The IO standards agreement portends a watershed for INTC I2O. Alan Benn started this thread on this subject. About two years ago he made the claim that WIND's royalties on I2O alone justify WIND's high valuation!

Stock action certainly reflects more than the merger IMO.

I've hung in since the IPO and rode this roller coaster both up and down. I am fastening my seatbelt because this baby will be takin us past Mars this time!
