I personally am fairly positive about Intel's prospects going forward in these new ventures.

This change in direction is a lot less scarier than when Intel was shutting down DRAM fabs in 1985. And I don't believe these new ventures will negatively impact Intel mgmt.'s focus on the core business.

Change can be good, and profitable, if Intel keeps its collective eye on the ball.
