Are there any more up-and-coming companies involved in the same business as WIN? What about new Canadian fibre-optic cable companies or Canadian companies tied in with Bandwidth that's not overloaded with outstanding shares. These types of businesses seem to be a very hot commodity as well. I see one analyst has a target price of $30.00 on WIN so looks like many have missed the train on Wi-LAN Inc.!!!. THANKS!!

I agree with you. As well, the rumours I'm hearing (perhaps over-blown interpretations of various news articles)are saying two companies are considering take over of WIN. If (if if if) this is true, we'll have a bidding war going, which wil drive the price higher.

My apologies to the thread I do not have any hard evidence to provide, just rumours. Please take with grain of salt.

"Surfer", the article you refer to made another key point: "Yesterday's close gives Wi-Lan a stock-market value of $487-million."

That's approximately $320M USD, peanuts for a monster like CISCO or Phillips. A peaceful resolution ? I don't think so. This baby has "hostile" written all over it.

If CISCO really feels that strongly about this company, they'll drop 600M USD on WIN and put them out of the picture. How realistic is that ? I don't know. But remember, for every 'CISCO' who's intentions we "somewhat" know about, there are other beasts in the shadows.

Criticism of the above statement is sought and welcome.

Thank you.
