Sudan (from Talisman Q3 report): First oil shipments commenced on August 30, with production averaging 23,767 bbls/d (net to Talisman) during the month of September, despite a short interruption due to an attack on the pipeline.

Three pump stations are now in service with production in early November reaching 155,000 bbls/d (38,750 bbls/d net to Talisman). Cash flow from Sudan totalled approximately $15 million during the quarter.

A total of 28 exploration and appraisal wells have been drilled year-to-date, with a 90% success rate. This includes 9 of 13 wildcat wells.

On October 26, the Government of Canada announced new foreign policy initiatives towards Sudan. Talisman supports these initiatives which include support for the IGAD peace process, the appointment of a mission to Sudan to examine allegations about human rights abuses and discussions with Talisman regarding private sector responsibility in Sudan.
