Enough of this baloney about partial cash offers, now AC is offering $16 for 36.8% of shares. Someone, please just offer me $14 cash for all my shares and you can have them.

Somehow I'm not surprised that Buzz Hargrove has thrown his support behind the Onex proposal. He and Gerry Schwartz have very similar personalities -- both are grandstanding self-promoters with a lot of ambition, too much ego and not enough gray matter.

In that they both remind me of their friend, Jean Chretien, who has clearly demonstrated without a reasonable doubt, that even a moron could go far in life on ambition alone.

By the way, Mr. Hargrove should read the article that appeared in the October 4th issue of Maclean's written by Ross Laver. In an article entitled, "Who's Greedy Now?", Mr. Laver discusses the recent contract settlements in the auto industry, and the concern this has raised amongst business leaders in Canada. The last paragraph in the article is particularly poignant.

It reads, "Yet object they do. At a party hosted last week by billionaire Onex Corp. chairman Gerry Schwartz and his wife Heather Reisman, founder of the Indigo bookstore chain, in their elegant Rosedale mansion, one group of well-heeled guests was overheard complaining that the Ford settlement had set a dangerous precedent for the economy. This while uniformed waiters floated through the crowd bearing trays of smoked salmon, barbecued scampi and other culinary delights. Surreal."

Well, Hargrove, now that you've made your bed, sleep in it.
