<<<Thank you E. I'm not surprised you see it that way too. JLA >>>

This is delicate for me.

I do think, as you do, that your resolution to be civil was a good idea. I don't want to provoke you into rescinding it.

But I am uncomfortable with any implication, if I am correct in detecting one, that our agreement on this matter indicates more than it does. It happens that I was the recipient of many of the ad hominem remarks you made before your resolution. The reason I think it was a good idea for you to resolve to cease that way of arguing is to spare others my experience.

So I welcome your resolution, and appreciate it; but I do suspect that it doesn't indicate that you and I see the resolution or the events that preceded it similarly.

Maybe we will find more agreement, or civility, in the future, though. I was so surprised at Cobe's account of her phone conversation with you, and the impression you made on her! I guess that the sorts of things you (and, of course, Zoltan) said were mostly the product of unmediated emotion toward and identification with Reagan, a public figure for whom I expressed disdain.

I've learned from this to be more temperate in the way I express my opinions of public figures or deeply held beliefs.
