The prosecutor's office has impounded the rental car, which had a suitcase in the trunk, Kaye said. Authorities are checking the contents of the suitcase. The car had been rented to Lehmann, the prosecutor said.
. . .
About 3:30 p.m., two vehicles pulled up to the gate. Candela, the homeowner, and four other men emerged from the cars while one woman stayed behind the darkened windows of a sport utility vehicle.

One of the men identified himself as Jesse Scarola, Kimberly's ex-husband and the father of her son.

So the car was rented by Lehmann. Was the suitcase his or was it Chalem's? If it was Chalem's was he perhaps doing a car swap and taking one of Chalem's exotics until his return? Maybe not as he would have used his own car to swap. Unless he has no car. Living close to the city he might not need one, but looking at the location of his house in Woodmere it seems to me that a family of 7 would need at least one to get about. Could he have been going to drive with Chalem to TN and/or points in between and return via air?

Interesting that Jesse Scarola was there with Russell Candela and two other men and possibly Kimberly Scarola, in the darkened car by 3:30pm the next afternoon. The scene had been discovered and reported at 1:00 am that morning. Interesting to me from the point of view that there was this level of relationship between the father and his ex-son-in-law, occasioned as it was by the death of his apparent future son-in-law.
