Cisco's Benjamin, Head of Consumer Business, Leaves Company

San Jose, California, Nov. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Cisco Systems
Inc., the world's No. 1 maker of Internet equipment, said Robba
Benjamin, head of the company's fledgling consumer line of
products, left the company to pursue other interests.

Cisco spokeswoman Elizabeth Cardinale couldn't immediately
elaborate on Benjamin's reason for leaving.

Benjamin joined Cisco in Aug. 1998 as vice president and
general manager of the consumer business. The company, which
dominates the market for expensive corporate-network equipment,
is aiming to sell more lower-cost consumer gear such as cable
modems.

Benjamin previously worked for Sprint Corp. and local phone
company U S West Inc.'s Yellow Pages publishing unit.

Shares of San Jose, California-based Cisco rose 1/16 to 72
15/16 in late trading.
